Founder, Co-Director and Senior Designer/Developer of my personal brand: Syfology Multimedia
By profession, well my 8-to-5 grind is that I am a full time front-end web designer/developer. But in between that, I do pretty much everything creative under the computer screen. I don’t like to limit myself in terms of what I can do, but also more importantly, in what I can learn, especially in something totally new.
I am open and collaborative: I work well in close-knit, comfortable and encouraging supportive environments.
I am optimistic and resilient: I dig in and figure out how to work around problems. Takes care of self and team. I like balance needed to maintain stamina and positivity.
I am silently strong. Do not like to be in the spotlight. I often wear the hats that need wearing and empower those around me.
I am a Creative Problem Solver: I have the ability to innovate, think creatively, and utilize design-thinking practices and strive for the best solution.
Traditionally I liked using Windows, but lately, I’ve been using Mac OS. So I’m pretty fluent on both operating systems.
I graduated with a B-Tech Degree in Multimedia at the University of Johannesburg, under the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (FADA), in 2008, with my National Diploma in the same course preceding it in 2007.
My key strong point is versatility. And in my 10 years (plus) career experience spanning across multi-faceted industries which enabled me to gain valuable technical and creative skills from website development and maintenance, I have aquired the skills to hit the ground running in almost every role I assume. I am highly adaptive to to new environments in the shortest turn around time. I learn quickly about things that I’m not familiar with. I am constantly seeking and reading up on new and interesting design and/or coding tutorials, ebooks, videos, webinars as a source of inspiration and self-improvement
On the social side, I am an aspiring self-taught photographer, self-taught musician (play mainly keyboard/piano), self-taught drone pilot enthusiast, part-time vlogger…what can I say. I love my technology. I love being in front of a computer and getting creative or just blowing off steam through my games or entertainment.
Speaking of entertainment. I love going to the cinema and sometimes on the rare occassion, to the theatre. I also like going to the stadium every now and then to watch my team Orlando Pirates play. I also love binge-watching repeat episodes of my favourites series or shows (mostly The Big Bang Theory), and oh I almost forgot my all time favorite hobby: I’m an avid PC gamer! But I prefer old school games, especially the old FIFA games and The Hitman (Agent 47) games.
